Sur Radio 1: le radioamateur Frank De Winne

Suite au lancement de la capsule Soyuz avec à son bord Frank De Winne, Gaston ON4WF a été interviewé lors du programme « Stories » sur Radio 1 (VRT). L’émission était intitulée « Frank De Winne zendamateur » (le radioamateur Frank De Winne). Durant quelques minutes Gaston à pu expliquer pourquoi Frank est aussi un radioamateur, ce que signifient les contacts radio ARISS et en résumé ce qu’est le radio amateurisme.

La capsule Soyuz TMA-15 avec Frank De Winne à son bord devrait amarrer à l'ISS ce vendredi 29 mai vers 14h30 (heure belge). A partir de 14h au Planétarium vous pouvez suivre le « docking » (accrochage) live au moyen d'images prises à partir de l'ISS et à partir de la capsule Soyuz. Cette opération sera commentée par un collaborateur de la société Space Applications Services. SAS est une société belge spécialisée dans le développement de logiciels pour des applications aéronautiques et spatiales. En plus vous pourrez vous-même vous mettre un instant dans la peau de Frank De Winne en tentant l’accrochage de la capsule Soyuz à l’ISS au moyen d’une installation interactive (réalisée grâce à SAS). |

Nieuwe lijst van de onbemande stations

Op vraag van velen onder jullie zijn de lijsten van de onbemande stations grondig aangepast. Men wenste vooral:
- één lijst voor alle onbemande stations.
- opgemaakt in Excel-formaat in plaats van HTML.
De nieuwe lijst biedt de volgende mogelijkheden:
- sorteren op elk criterium, bijvoorbeeld frequentie, mode, postnummer, enz...
- aan te passen zodat alle gewenste gegevens goed kunnen afgeprint worden.
Kijk maar eens op de pagina "Actueel" in de rubriek "Onbemande stations".
- één lijst voor alle onbemande stations.
- opgemaakt in Excel-formaat in plaats van HTML.
De nieuwe lijst biedt de volgende mogelijkheden:
- sorteren op elk criterium, bijvoorbeeld frequentie, mode, postnummer, enz...
- aan te passen zodat alle gewenste gegevens goed kunnen afgeprint worden.
Voor wie geen behoefte heeft aan zo'n uitgebreide lijst en/of geen Excel-bestanden kan bekijken is er ook een "eenvoudige" versie in PDF-formaat. Deze laatste is ook geoptimaliseerd om te afgedrukt worden.
Kijk maar eens op de pagina "Actueel" in de rubriek "Onbemande stations".
Suggesties en aanvullingen zijn welkom bij Filip on4pc [at] uba [dot] be (ON4PC). Uiteraard zal net zoals in het verleden, de lijst regelmatig bijgewerkt worden zodat deze altijd up-to-date is.

La nouvelle liste vous donne les possibilités suivantes :
- par colonne modifier l'ordre des éléments sur p. ex. la fréquence, mode, code postal, etc.
- peut être adapté, de façon à pouvoir imprimer toutes les données.
Allez voir sous « Actualités », dans la rubrique « Stations automatiques ».

Ground station in Bochum generated echoes from Venus
Background information
The team of German Space Agency AMSAT-DL reached another milestone on the way to send a spacecraft to Mars on 25 March 2009. From ground mission control station in Bochum (located in the observatory IUZ Sternwarte) radio frequency signals were sent to Venus. After nearly 100 million kilometres of track and approximately five minute’s term they came back again as echoes from Venus surface and were received in Bochum. This was the first German success to receive echoes of other planets.
The transmitter technology for the planned Mars mission of AMSAT-DL was the last key component tested and fulfils its baptism of fire.
The AMSAT-DL prepares the first privately financed flight to Mars for the next possible launch window. This spacecraft is intended as a scientific and communication platform. In the last few years the largely honorary researcher of the AMSAT-DL developed and tested all essential components for this spacecraft. Many technical elements were successfully on satellites in earth orbits. With reception of its own echoes from Venus the ground commando station is ready for lift-off and the AMSAT-DL team is waiting in the wings to construct the spacecraft.
Development, design and construction of this first German Mars mission have been achieved through own work by the AMSAT-DL and its partner organizations. Already a third of the total project costs were performed. More own work shall follow during the mission. To finance the specific construction costs and the launch costs the AMSAT-DL tries to get financial support of the DLR (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt). There is a need for finance of 20 million Euros.
The AMSAT would like to demonstrate that their approaches to low-cost space missions are feasible. For comparison, these days the ESA and NASA missions to Mars have cost ten times as much.
The Mars mission is obliged to the open source principle. Private donors can contribute to the mission. A website was set up for Mars tickets http://www.ticket-to-mars.org. Anyone can buy his ticket to Mars up 50 EUR.
Through the open source principle it allows everyone to receive the mission live data during the flight to Mars. This is possible by using amateur radio frequencies and an own receiver with a dish with 1 meter diameter. If such equipment is not available then it is also possible to get a live stream via Internet. All necessary information will be disclosed before the mission.

The WABP certainly is Belgium's premier award. It can be achoeved by both licensed HAMs and SWLs for having worked/heard and confirmed all ten Belgian provinces and Brussels.
Europeans need each province and Brussels on two different bands, making a total of 22 contacts. Stations outside Europe need a single confirmation from each province and Brussels.
Send your GCR (General Certification Rule, i.e. a list of the data of your received QSL cards verified by two licensed HAMs) to the UBA Award Manager: Egbert Hertsen, on4cas [at] uba [dot] be (ON4CAS), Van Busleydenstraat 10, B-2800 Mechelen, Belgium.
The award fee is €10 if you require a printed copy. The UBA also offers an electronic version in PDF format which is available at no cost.

Traditiegetrouw hebben we ervoor gezorgd dat naast het officiële verslag van de Statutaire Algemene Vergadering van de UBA, er eveneens een fotoreportage wordt gepubliceerd over deze gebeurtenis.

Comme la tradition le veut nous avons, à part le rapport officiel de l’Assemblée Générale Statutaire de l’UBA, réalisé un reportage photos de cet événement formidable.

Friedrichshafen 2009 komt eraan

Van vrijdag 26 juni tot en met zondag 28 juni eerstkomend zullen, zoals elk jaar, een goede 17.000 radioamateurs de weg vinden naar Friedrichshafen, aan het enig mooie Bodenmeer bij het drielandenpunt Duitsland / Oostenrijk / Zwitserland. Met ruim 170 exposanten uit zowat 30 landen, en duizenden gelegenheidsexposanten op de vlooienmarkt, is Friedrichshafen uiteraard het Mekka van het Radioamateurisme in Europa, dat nog in weinig dient onder te doen voor zijn Amerikaanse broer in Dayton. Gewoontegetrouw worden er circa 6000 buitenlandse bezoekers verwacht, wat wil zeggen dat je moeilijk nu nog overnachting vindt in de onmiddellijke nabijheid. Er zijn echter ook prachtige kampeerterreinen onmiddellijk naast de Messe zelf. Naast al de standen met apparatuur, onderdelen en ander "radioamateur snoepgoed" is er zoals steeds een ganse hall die is voorbehouden aan de verenigingen. Onze Duitse zustervereniging pakt er, zoals elk jaar, uit met een groot aantal standen die de diverse activiteiten van deze grote vereniging in kaart brengen. Maar in totaal zijn er zowat 40 landen vertegenwoordigd met een nationale stand, waaronder, traditiegetrouw ook de UBA. Over de vele jaren heen is de UBA-stand de plaats geworden waar de vele Belgische bezoekers even komen uitblazen. Vergeet niet, zoals steeds het laatste weekend in juni, afspraak te Friedrichshafen, in de nieuwe prachtige "messe" vlak aan de zeppelin haven. Vergeet ook niet om je spaarpot mee te brengen... |
