ARISS radioverbinding vanuit het Euro Space Center te Redu

Het Euro Space Center (te Redu, provincie Luxemburg), in samenwerking met “La Maison du Tourisme de la Haute Lesse”, het boekendorp (Village du Livre) van Redu en de ESA, nodigen u uit om deel te nemen aan de 5de editie van de "Dag van de Luchtvaart en Ruimtevaart", die doorgaat op zondag 12 juli 2009 met een radioverbinding met Frank De Winne als centrale gebeurtenis. Deze radioverbinding zou moeten plaatsvinden om 16u08.

Tijdens deze familiale gebeurtenis zullen heel wat gevarieerde animaties plaatsvinden in het Euro Space Center:
  • Bouwateliers van microzweefvliegtuigen, vliegtuigen, modelvliegtuigen, vliegers, raketten (warme lucht, water en microraketten), miniwagentjes met voortstuwing, luchtkussenvoertuigen en luchtballonnen,
  • Lancering en afvuren van waterraketten en microraketten,
  • Demonstraties, tentoonstellingen en testen van vliegers, modelvliegtuigen (uitwerpen van snoep), vliegsimulatoren voor modelvliegtuigen, een telegeleide luchtballon en een zeilschermvliegtuig,
  • Veel pret met een helikopterluchtdoop, een reuze trampoline, een Space Equalizer, een Space Run, een Moon Walk en een Multi-Axes,
  • Tochten met een toeristische trein tussen het Euro Space Center en het ESA-station van Redu. Voorstelling van de rol van het ESA-station en rit door het boekendorp Redu,
  • Een rechtstreekse radioamateurverbinding met Frank De Winne aan boord van het internationaal ruimtestation (ISS). Hij zal antwoorden op verschillende vragen die door de kinderen van een plaatselijke school werden voorbereid,
  • De ganse dag door is er een tentoonstelling van luchtballonnen. Het opstijgen ervan is voorzien bij het begin van de avond.

ARISS CONTACT PLANNED FOR FRANK DE WINNE WITH PARTICIPANTS AT AIR AND SPACE DAY

An Expedition 20 ARISS school contact has been planned with participants at Air and Space Day, Euro Space Center, Belgium. The event is scheduled on Sunday 12 July 2009 at approximately 14:08 UTC, which is 16:08 CEST.
The contact will be a telebridge between onboard station NA1SS and WH6PN, located in Honolulu. The participants are expected to conduct the conversation in French.
Downlink signals will be audible over California on 145.800 MHz FM.
ARISS VOIP coordinator Graham Lawton G7EVY will distribute the radiocontact over *AMSAT* and *JK1ZRW* Conference nodes.
On Air and Space Day, the Euro Space Center, located in the Belgian Ardennes, invites the general public to discover Space Exploration and offers several Air and Space related activities such as building and launching water and micro rockets, building kites, helicopter flights, presentation of ULM flights, lift off of an hot air balloon, Frisbee demonstrations, aeromodelism, etc.
For the over 1000 visitors, the ARISS amateur radio contact will be the topmost event, when youngsters will put questions, prepared by Ecole communale de Biesme-sous-Thuin, to Belgian astronaut Frank De Winne.
Participant students will ask as much of following questions as time allows:
  1. Malika : Qu’avez-vous ressenti de différent par rapport à la première fois où vous étiez allé dans l’espace ? (Did you feel any differently from the first time you went up into space?),
  2. Perrine : Pourquoi avez-vous choisi ce métier à risque ? (Why did you choose this risky job?),
  3. Coleen : Le stage de préparation était-il difficile ? (Was the preparation training difficult?),
  4. Estelle : Avez-vous suffisamment d’espace pour évoluer à six dans la station ? (Is there enough room in the station for 6 people?),
  5. Laetitia : Quelqu’un a-t-il déjà été blessé dans la navette ? (Has someone already been hurt in the shuttle?),
  6. Charlie : Dans l’espace, est-ce-que le temps vous semble plus long ou plus court que sur la Terre ? (In space does time seem longer or shorter than on earth?),
  7. Noémie : Quelle quantité d’eau devez-vous emporter et êtes-vous réapprovisionné ? (What amount of water do you have to take up and do you need to have a fill up?),
  8. Marie : Lorsque vous prenez votre douche, l’eau ne flotte-t-elle pas ? (When you have a shower, doesn't the water float?),
  9. Morgane : Devrez-vous réapprendre à marcher quand vous reviendrez sur terre ? (Will you have to relearn how to walk when you come back on earth?),
  10. Mathieu : Que faites-vous pendant votre temps libre ? (What do you do during your free time?),
  11. Sylvain : Où vous situez-vous par rapport à la Terre pour l’instant ? (What is your situation for the moment regarding the earth?),
  12. Bruno : Quels sont les endroits où on peut suivre une formation pour devenir astronaute ? (Where can we train to become an astronaut?),
  13. Quentin : Y a-t-il une télévision dans la navette ? (Do you have television in space?),
  14. Guillaume : Est-ce-que les missions sont compliquées ? (Are your missions complicated?),
  15. Matthias : Vos nuits sont-elles longues et bonnes ? (Do you sleep well in space and have a long night sleep?),
  16. Corentin : La communication entre les astronautes est-elle facile ? Quelle langue utilisez-vous pour vous comprendre ? (Is the communication between astronauts easy? What language do you use?),
  17. Ophélie : La manœuvre pour accrocher la navette à l’I.S.S a-t-elle été difficile ? (Is the docking manoeuvre between the shuttle and the space station difficult?),
  18. Maxime  : La nourriture est-elle bonne ? Vous y habituez-vous ? (Is the food good? Are you getting used to it?),
  19. Dylan : D’où vous êtes, pouvez-vous apercevoir la Muraille de Chine ? (From where you are, can you seen the Great Wall of China?),
  20. Mélodie : Où vous entraînez-vous pour aller dans l’espace ? (Where do you train before going to space?),
  21. Kathlyn : Avez-vous déjà subi des turbulences ? (Have you already been through turbulence?),
  22. Amélie : Combien de temps mettrez-vous pour regagner la Terre ? (How long will is take you to reach the earth?),
  23. Camille : Si vous deviez garder un seul beau moment de votre carrière, lequel choisiriez-vous ? (If you had to keep one good memory of your career, which one would you choose?),
  24. Lorenzo : Etes-vous déjà sorti de la station pour aller dans l’espace ? (Have you already done an extra vehicular activity?).
ARISS is an international educational outreach program partnering the participating space agencies, NASA, Russian Space Agency, ESA, CNES, JAXA, and CSA, with the AMSAT and IARU organizations from participating countries. ARISS offers an opportunity for students to experience the excitement of Amateur Radio by talking directly with crewmembers onboard the International Space Station. Teachers, parents and communities see, first hand, how Amateur Radio and crewmembers on ISS can energize youngsters' interest in science, technology and learning.
