HackerSpace Gent op 13 t.e.m. 15 april 2018.

Het weekend van 13 tem 15 april organiseert HackerSpace Gent reeds voor de 3de keer "newline": een conferentie met een mix van talks en workshops. Naast de de typische hackerspace onderwerpen (retrogaming, biohacking, computer-security, foodhacking, kunst, solderen, (het bijna obligate) lockpicking, ... ) komen er ook een aantal onderwerpen aan bod die eveneens interessant kunnen zijn de radio-amateur gemeenschap:
- zaterdag een talk over het opzetten van ioT devices, een talk over Wireless Belgium en een workshop solderen voor beginners en gevorderden.
- De zondag is er een talk over "gnuradio en de HackRF" en ... één over het radio-amateurisme ...
   Het is de bedoeling om de radio-amateurhobby voor te stellen aan een technisch-gericht publiek en te tonen hoe dat radio-technologie eigenlijk overlapt met andere gebieden van de wetenschap en techniek.

If you have ever played around with the RTL SDR-dongle to visibly look at radio-signals, listened to shortwave broadcasting station or have a HackRF to play around with radio-protocols, you have probably come across the term 'amateur radio' AKA 'ham radio'. The goal of this talk is to explain what exactly is amateur radio hobby, the amateur-radio culture and how having an amateur radio license can help you with your other hobbies, explore radio in all its facets and simply learn more about technology and science in general.
*_Ook interessant voor de radioamateurs is:_* TALK 16:00 - 16:45 : SOFTWARE DEFINED RADIO WITH HACKRF ONE FOR BEGINNERS A short introduction into software defined radio using the HackRF One from Great Scott Gadgets with Gnu Radio. Will talk a bit about the basic concepts and then hack the garage door!
