Pour la 4ième fois consécutive, se déroulera le 11 et 12 aout prochain, le "military history show Wings & Wheels" (avec une bourse internationale militaria) à la base aérienne de soutien de l'Otan d'Ursel (Flandre Orientale). Tout comme les années précédentes, une délégation d'ON4EKO (section EKO) sera de la partie pour aider à mener à bien cet événement. La tente d'ON4EKO sera installée à un point central (en face de l'aéroclub d'Ursel) et sera accessible à chaque visiteur. Hormis le fait que cette tente est depuis des années connue comme point de rencontres entre radioamateurs ou amoureux de la radio présents ce jour, la section Eeklo utilisera cet événement pour promouvoir notre hobby envers le grand publique. Ceci sera possible avec la participation du plus grand nombre d'intéressés.
ON4EKO/P et ON4CWM/P seront QRV à partir du vendredi 10 au dimanche 12 aout inclus (plus d'infos).
9M4SLL - Spratly Layang Layang Island

John, 9M6XRO, and Steve, 9M6DXX, will be operating as 9M4SLL from Pulau Layang Layang, Spratly Islands (IOTA AS-051) from 7th to 13th August, 2012. Activity will be on all bands from 80 to 10 meters on CW, SSB and RTTY, using two stations with linear amplifiers to vertical antennas on the edge of the ocean.

R10QRP - Russian QRP Club 10th Anniversary

The Russian QRP Club is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and will be using the callsign R10QRP during August. Listen out for R10QRP from the RU QRP Rally: Thursday 2nd - Sunday 5th August. The rally is a 4 day camp on the banks of the River Ugra, around 200 miles SE of Moscow. Also, G4GXL will be there using the callsign RA/G4GXL/P (QRV on PSK31, RTTY, CW and SSB).

UBA section WRC will again participate in this year's IOTA contest. Operators Louis PAØLCE, Lieven ON4PQ, Kurt ON5UT, Joel ON6JM, Eddy ON7PO, Pat ON7PQ, Walter ON8LW and Arsène ON4FE will be active as PF4C for the RSGB IOTA Contest from Schouwen-Duiveland Island (EU-146), Zeeland Province, The Netherlands. Plans are for a Multi-Op/All-Band/Low-Power CW and SSB entry.

TM7T - Îles Chausey

Durant le dernier weekend de juillet, une équipe composée de membres des sections ARC-OSB-TRA s'en ira vers les îles Chausey pour prendre part au contest IOTA. Ce team, sous la direction de Jean-Jacques ON7EQ sera QRV avec l'indicatif TM7T depuis le vendredi soir 27 juillet jusqu'au dimanche 29 juillet 12h00' UTC sur l'île (IOTA-ref EU-039) en SSB & CW sur toutes les bandes HF. C'est une chance unique pour contacter cette référence IOTA car cette île est une réserve naturelle et est préservée comme telle.

London 2012 Olympics and Paralympic Games

The Radio Society of Great Britain RSGB and Ofcom have reached agreement on the optional use of special callsigns for the period of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. This facility will exist for a seven week period, using the letter “O” and will also be available to Amateur Club licences. Furthermore, calls in the series GB2012aaa will be available for Special Event Stations relating to the Olympics and licences will be issued for four “flagship” stations using the prefix 2O12a where “O” is the letter O, and a is a single letter relating to the location of the station.
Callsign: the letter O will be added to calls, or replace the regional identifier. For example (where “aaa” represents the final alpha block of the callsign):
M3aaa becomes MO3aaa
G3aaa becomes GO3aaa
GM3aaa becomes GO3aaa
2E0aaa becomes 2O0aaa (Two Oscar zero aaa)
