7S6WRD - UNESCO World Radio Day at Grimeton SAQ

World Heritage GRIMETON RADIO/SAQ will, hopefully, have a transmission with the Alexanderson alternator on VLF 17.2 kHz on international UNESCO ”WORLD RADIO DAY” (WRD) on Friday February 13th 2015. Tuning up from 14:30 UTC and a message will be sent at 15:00 UTC. The message concerning PEACE has been put together by over 200 citizens of Varberg via the “Varberg Calling for Peace” project, in Varberg, Sweden.No QSL-cards will be given this time and no List of Reports will be constructed but short listeners reports to e-mail info [at] alexander [dot] n [dot] se are accepted.
Amateur radio station (SK6SAQ) will be active with a special call sign for the day, “7S6WRD” where “WRD” stands for “World Radio Day”. Frequencies: 7035 CW or 14035 CW, 3755 SSB. QSL to 7S6WRD via SM bureau.

The International Amateur Radio Club (IARC) of ITU will be taking part in the celebrations of World Radio Day, Friday 13th of February which also marks the kick-off for the celebrations of the 150th anniversary of the International Telecommunication Union.IARC will be using the callsign 4U0ITU (counts as ITU HQ, DXCC Entity code 117) for the rest of 2015, until the World Radio Conference WRC-15, 2-27 November 2015. All QSO will be confirmed, QSL information can be found on QRZ.com.

Operators Raf ON5RZ, Dirk ON7DS and Fons ON4AWT will operate as SI9AM between January 28 and February 1 2015 from the 'King Chulalongkorn Memorial', the largest Thai Pavilion in the world outside Thailand in Ragunda, Sweden.The trio plan to be an entry in the UBA DX Contest (January 31-February 01). Outside of the contest, they will be active on 160-10 meters using SSB and FM. Suggested frequencies are: SSB - 1840, 3760, 7060, 14210, 18160, 21310, 24960 and 28510 kHz FM - 145.550 MHz and repeater RV49 - 145.612 MHz.

EP6T - Kish Island

Après plus de 3 ans de négociations et une visite à Téhéran, Patrick ON4HIL leader du Rockall Team a obtenu des autorités iraniennes l’indicatif EP6T. Lui et une équipe de 10 opérateurs internationaux parmi laquelle de nombreux OM belges seront actifs sur Kish Island (AS-166) durant la deuxième quinzaine de janvier 2015. Ils ambitionnent de mettre sur l’air 4 ou 5 stations sur toutes les bandes du 10 au 160m avec une priorité pour les bandes basses en SSB, CW et RTTY. Aussi, le second objectif est de mettre en place une structure qui permettra à terme que des étudiants et membres des télécoms puissent obtenir une licence amateur dans ce pays. An international crew with the Clubstation "Radio Friends of Paul P. Harris" will be on the air as OUØPOLIO. The activity has already started from January 1, 2015 until December 31, 2016. On all bands and all modulations.The crew activates the call in celebration of the 110th Anniversary of Rotary International – with Paul P. Harris and others as the early founders of Rotary International, in the year 1905 in Chicago, USA.
With this radio activity, the team likes further to set the signal to the eradication of POLIO in the world.
