Fred ON6QR zal op 27 februari 2012 het radiostation van de UNO in Wenen, 4U1VIC, activeren.
QRV op HF tussen 17:30 et 19:00 uur, SSB of CW. De werkingscondities zijn 'normaal': 100 W en eenvoudige antenne (dipool of vertical).
Amateur radio exams in DR Congo

On January 27, 2012 the first Amateur Radio Exams took place in the ARAC clubhouse in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo. Pascal, 9Q1PM, did an excellent job preparing the candidates for the test. All 21 candidates passed!
The exam was supervised by Mr Mpatamana of the Ministère des Postes Nouvelles Technologies de Communication. The club has great plans to be on the air with their club station 9Q0AR on a regular basis.

ON2ØOSA - 20 jaar ON4OSA nieuwsronde

Vanaf heden tot 31/12/2012 gebruikt het clubstation ON4OSA de call ON20OSA. Het clubstation ON4OSA viert dit jaar de 20ste verjaardag van de wekelijkse nieuwsronde voor radioamateurs.

ON4AWT (Fons), ON5RZ (Raf) and ON7DS (Dirk) will be again active from the far North in Sweden, January 25-30 as SI9AM. They will also be QRV for the UBA SSB DX contest on January 28 and 29.

SAQ - new test transmission on 17.2 kHz

"The reason for the trouble with SAQ on Christmas Eve was most probably a damaged fuse in the excitation circuit for the 500 V DC generator. The fuse was not completely blown but measured a very high resistance (150 ohm). When we lost the excitation current to the DC generator, we also lost the control current to the choke coils in the conductors to the main motor, and thereby the speed control of the alternator was lost. It was confusing that the problem occurred exactly when we connected the running alternator to the antenna. We were actually on air a few seconds with decreasing frequency until the antenna was disconnected by the protection circuit in the speed control."
Because of the missing Christmas Eve transmission there will be a SAQ test transmission on Tuesday 10th, 2012 at 13:30 UTC. There will only be a transmission with "VVV VVV VVV DE SAQ SAQ SAQ" running for about 30 minutes and no message. There will be no QSL-card exchange for this test.

ON800TUR - Turnhout, cultuurstad 2012

Naar aanleiding van het feestjaar 'Turnhout 2012, cultuurstad van Vlaanderen' zal in 2012 in het centrum van Turnhout een nieuwe 'Slag' te zien zijn. Omdat het dan 800 jaar geleden is dat Turnhout stadsrechten kreeg, staat deze keer niet de Brabantse Omwenteling centraal. In de plaats daarvan zal in acht taferelen, op acht locaties, telkens een episode uit een van de acht eeuwen stadsgeschiedenis in scène gezet worden. Dit is een van de vele evenementen die dit feestjaar te Turnhout wordt georganiseerd en waaraan de radioamateurs van de Noorderkempen (UBA-sectie NOK) met de speciale clubcall ON800TUR hun steentje zullen bijdragen.

ON65BR - 65 jaar OSB

2012 is een heel bijzonder jaar voor de Brugse zendamateurs van de sectie OSB. Zij vieren niet enkel hun 65-jarig bestaan als radioamateurvereniging maar ook hebben ze al 40 jaar hun vaste stek op het terrein gelegen aan de Lodewijk Coiseaukaai 31. Om dit gebeuren in de spotlights te zetten, zal OSB gedurende gans 2012 de call ON65BR gebruiken tijdens contesten en clubactiviteiten.
Als aftrap van het feestjaar zal het clubstation op maandag 2 januari 2012 de hele dag QRV zijn op alle banden. Vanaf 20u30 (lokale tijd) is er eveneens een OSB-ronde gepland met deze call op 145.325.

Enkele leden van sectie Ronse ON4RSX zullen actief zijn vanop het eiland Schouwen-Duiveland (Nederland-Zeeland) EU-146 vanaf 26/12/2011 tot en met 29/12/2011.
ON6QO, ON5TC, ON5TQ en ON8VP starten op maandagmiddag om 14:00 UTC en zullen enkel actief zijn in CW op de banden 80, 40, 30, 20 en 17m (3,525, 7,025, 10,125, 14,025 en 18,075 MHz). Einde activatie 29/12/2011 om 23h00 UTC.

SAQ Christmas Message

There will be, as before, a transmission with the Alexanderson 200 kW alternator on VLF 17.2 kHz from Grimeton Radio/SAQ on Christmas Eve, Saturday, December 24th, 2011. The message transmission will take place at 08:00 UTC. The transmitter will be tuned up from around 07:30 UTC.
