PD69L zal van 25 april tot 15 mei in de lucht zijn om de bevrijding van bezet Nederland tijdens de tweede wereldoorlog, nu 69 jaar geleden, te herdenken.
Het station herdenkt niet alleen de geallieerde legers, maar alle mensen die belangeloos hebben meegewerkt om Nederland door de oorlog heen te helpen, hetzij door voedsel en goederen te delen of voor onderdak te zorgen.

TM02REF - Ferme de Hurtebise

The team at TM02REF announce its activity on 80/40/20m SSB from Hurtebise Farm on the Chemin des Dames (JN19UK), on April 13, 2014.2014 marks the Centenary of the outbreak of the First World War, but is also the Bi-centenary of the French Napoleonic War. Hurtebise Farm was at the centre of both conflicts. In fact, following his victory over the Russians on the 7th March 1814, the Emperor slept there. In 1914, and again in 1917, it was the site of terrible battles against the armies of the Kaiser. And lastly, in 1940, during the invasion of France by the 3rd Reich, it once again saw a battle develop. In addition to a monument representing a Napoleonic hussar and a footsoldier, numerous commemorative plaques adorn the walls of the farm, reminding us of its sombre history. The Dragon's Cave is just 300 yards away, and the famous California Plateau as well as the Abbey of Vauclair are close by. During our visit to this unique site in the AISNE, the farm's owner proved to be very enthusiastic, and readily put the entire location at our disposal.

Olivier ON4EI, one of the top European contester, is back to Ireland to operate EI8GQB and EI1A during the CQ WW WPX SSB contest from 22nd March to 2nd April 2014.In 2013, Olivier scored, with EI1A, tops Europe in CQ WW WPX, IARU HF and IOTA contests in Low Power Single Op SSB category using green energy only and its Field Day style antenna park.
18m top loaded vertical monopole for 160-80m-40m bands + 32 radials.
Inverted V dipole for 160-80m-40m bands.3 elements East-West two-direction inverted V beam for 40m band.
200m long beverage RX antenna East-West directional.

Van maandag 10 tot en met vrijdag 14 februari neemt ON4HTI, het clubstation van de Katholieke Hogeschool VIVES Oostende (vroeger: “Hoger Technisch Instituut”), deel aan de jaarlijkse School Club Roundup.
Je kan de studenten van de school een plezier doen en hen een puntje geven door een QSO met ON4HTI te maken, eenmaal in telefonie en eenmaal in een digimode (CW, PSK, enz…). Er zal hoofdzakelijk in PSK gewerkt worden op HF (alle banden behalve WARC). De homefrequentie op VHF is 144.625. Er is ook een webcam waar je kan zien of er wel iemand in de shack is.

Ik ben nu al weer 42 jaar SWL en heb nog steeds veel plezier in de hobby.
Omdat ik de laatste tijd meer tijd voor de hobby heb, ben ik in 2013 begonnen als QSL manager en doe dit nu al voor een paar DX stations en dit naar tevredenheid van alle partijen. Ik beloof dat als ik een QSL direct krijg ik binnen een dag deze bevestig, mits ik het digitale log kan inzien.
Wellicht zijn er OM/YL die een DXpeditie plannen en op zoek zijn naar een QSL manager. Neem dan gerust contact op met mij. Neem ook een kijkje op qrz.com en/of qrzcq.com. De service als QSL manager is natuurlijk gratis.
