OR4TN is ON5TN’s call sign from the Belgian Princess Elisabeth Station on Antarctica. Karel is a member of the team who is there on a mission to make the new base operational. That means he is there to work... If work permits, he will try to be active but it is NOT a priority. The good news (well, for us anyway) is Karel's stay has been extended until February 25. At that date the entire team will leave Antarctica. More details here.

Ghis ON5NT is QRV in Uruguay als CX5DNT van 12 tot en met 17 december. Dit is geen DXpeditie, maar vakantie, zon en een weerzien van lokale radioamateurs. De meeste activiteit zal 's avonds (lokale tijd in CX) zijn, en vooral in CW. Ghis probeert QRV te zijn op 15, 17, 20, 30 en 40m. Zijn favoriete frequentie is 10107 kHz. Rig: IC706MKIIG (100 W) en multiband inverted vee dipole.QSL via bureau via ON5NT.

WARC 10MHz band open to VU2 Hams

The Wireless Planning & Communication (WPC) Wing of the Ministry of Communications in India has written to Gopal VU2GMN (President, Amateur Radio Society of India) to inform that 10100 to 10150 has been allocated to Amateur Services on a secondary basis in India.
This means that VU2 hams are free to use this on a non-interference basis with existing users of these frequencies. Earlier, temporary permission was issued from time to time for this WARC band. It has also been communicated to Gopal that the 50-52 MHz (6M) band cannot be allocated now since it has already been allocated to other services. Hopefully they can still get some spot frequencies there in future.
